THE REAL ANTARCTICA EXPERIENCE

The Antarctica Experience_Bio.jpg

Antarctica is as beautiful as it is critical to our planet’s survival, but this frozen ecosystem is under threat from climate change – and one filmmaker is on a mission to share this knowledge with the world. Follow director Briege Whitehead and her crew as they travel from Perth, Western Australia, to the icy continent, to film a world-first virtual reality documentary and bring Antarctica to the doorstep of global audiences. Share their journey of discovery as they trek over glaciers and amongst penguins, take a behind-the-scenes look at life at Davis Station, and hear from scientists in the field conducting ground-breaking research. The challenges of filming in such an extreme environment face the crew head-on every time they step into their survival gear – and lots can go wrong. If the weather’s bad, which it often is, there are no second chances. With just fourteen days to achieve something that’s never been done before, this is The Real Antarctica Experience.
